The frequency of cloud cover is derived from approximately 20 years of observations. Statistics are for mid-transit time give or take one or two hours. Cloud cover in many areas increases during the day and decreases at night, so that at most locations the cloud amount shown will be heavier than at the start of the transit, and less than the end.
